Urticaria, commonly known as hives, is a skin condition characterized by the sudden appearance of Raised, red or skin-colored welts that may change shape, move around, or disappear and reappear on the skin; Itching, which can be mild to severe

    and swelling of the lips, eyelids, or other areas (a condition called angioedema)

Urticaria can be acute (lasting less than six weeks) or chronic (lasting more than six weeks or recurring frequently over months or years).

 

Treatment

  • Antihistamines: To block histamine, which is responsible for the itching and swelling.
  • Avoidance: Identifying and avoiding triggers.
  • Corticosteroids: For severe cases, short-term use may be necessary.
  • Lifestyle adjustments: Wearing loose clothing, avoiding heat or irritants.
